What is Cajon house?

As Jon and Carmen were dating, they felt (early on) that a life together would not simply be a life about each other and raising a family together, but to build something beyond themselves. As they were preparing for their wedding in 2018, the name Cajon was born for a hashtag for their wedding. Little did they know, Cajon would mean so much more than just a hashtag.

Cajon House is a non-traditional mom-and-pop shop providing services across different platforms such as food, play and photography rooted together by the same principals and values: bringing joy to our souls and impacting those around us.

Formally educated and trained, Jon and Carmen both have degrees in different industries. Jon has a degree in Hotel & Tourism management as well as in culinary arts while Carmen has a degree in Dance. In addition to their current passions, they have also found joy in other art forms such as photography and education through play. And for them, It is not possible to do one or the other, thus through using their creativity, they are finding their footing of combining all that they love as ONE. 

ONE family unit in pursuit of their passions together. 

We have many gifts and talents; photography, culinary, sensory play - none that is more or less than another. But we are finding a way of how each of these elements work together just as a wife and husband compliment each other.
